I opened a Bluesky account yesterday, and I don't think I've ever been repelled by a platform quite so quickly. The people I interacted with are fine, but the interface and experience are just so... *twitter.* After acclimating to Mastodon, there's just no going back for me. Thank you all for contributing to this amazing platform/community. 💜

@172frames It is very twitter-like. Roughly the same character limitation. Same kind of look and feel. Supposedly it's supposed to be the exit for people who got a lot f hate on Twitter.
I went from Twitter to Mastodon (lor.sh) and was a little put off by a lot of tech people talking in tech language about stuff I had no clue about and I couldn't figure out how to engage with people who wrote about things I understand - books, the arts, politics.
Over on Bluesky you can "find your tribe" pretty quickly.
I still come back to Mastodon fairly often just to see what's happening. My feed seems to be more diverse now. Both are good platforms.
