MANNVANUARY THREE, #4:
I was pleasantly surprised by the mix of melodrama and genuine mythical storytelling in this one. I picked up on the obvious parallels to King Lear right away, but there's also a certain self-awareness in how this movie wrestles with its dramatic tropes that makes it very fresh and surprising at times.
