@ProPublica I was trying to understand how this is defensible, even to hardcore MAGA men. Then I read, “NIOSH researchers planned to dig into numerous under-studied questions, such as what workplace exposures led to cancers that specifically harmed female firefighters,” and now it all makes sense. “Female firefighters” are the antithesis to their beliefs, which I guess to them means they should die of preventable causes. Is this considered winning? Maybe for them, but not for us.
But the red line on my license plate is all I need to show my support.
@ProPublica You could probably pay all of their salaries and overhead expenses for at least a year for the cost of one of Trump's weekly golf course trips or a couple of the thousands of tacky gold tchotchkes he has had installed in the white house.
@ProPublica Seems like a good time to remember that Project 2025 thinks things like fire fighting should be privatized (so if you can't pay enough they don't put out your house fire before everything you own burns down in other words. They wouldn't even go to poor neighborhoods.)
Of course that doesn't actually work (fires spread!) but they *really* don't care.
Chances are this is another one of their "destroy everything so only private companies can take up the slack" moves.

@ProPublica Trump wants to make things the way he can understand them. So all public service has to be reduced as much as he needs to; better said, as much as his very small mind can grasp. No complex nets of life are allowed to exist, be they human or, beware, even bigger. As in habitat. Or Earth.
