finished watching A Sign of Affection 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑
At first i found this anime to be pretty generic, I even thought about dropping it after the first few episodes, which is something I only do very rarely. But I decided keep watching and found it to be pretty enjoyable.
The aspect of living without being able to hear is being explored further then in Silent Voice, given that there is much more time available then in a single movie. I feel like it can be explored even further, but it was still was quite interesting, especially since I never experienced other media about deafness.
Another aspect was language learning. Since I am currently learning Japanese it was cool to see some of that reflected in an anime. In one scene the language learner asked his friend to switch to subtites while watching tv and he began shadowing the english movie (shadowing simply means repeating the spoken sentences from the tv). I saw that as an oportunity to start shadowing myself for the rest of the anime.
Aside from that i felt the relationship of the main couple did not progress much in the second half of the series, but since then the other characters got shown more. I found those to be more interesting than the main couple actually.
Sadly the end was pretty abrupt, it felt like everthing was left open for a second season, which I am looking forward to, if it will ever come.
