What I’ve found interesting is that apparently several bot owners were/are unaware that it is possible to properly migrate accounts/followers and not just have to create a new account somewhere and announce that they are moving and hope that their followers see and re-follow.
Or how actually pretty easy migration is when moving between pre-existing instances.

All my bots have been dormant for a couple of years at least

They used to run on an old laptop at home, along with a couple of twitter bots. My main account at twitter got suspended so I shut it all down. My electricity bill immediately dropped by a third. With the price of electricity being absurd, and hosting costing money, they'll have to stay dormant. Plus I can't remember how to write python these days lol.

Also the fact that just because botsin.space is read only now, doesn’t mean you can’t still migrate, i saw a lot of unnecessary panic or resignation to loss because people couldn’t get the time/spoons to move everything earlier. 🙁
(Tbf I didn’t realise either, but I had the luxury of free time/energy to move stuff early. But I saw @muffinista clarify in a post elsewhere that people should still be able to move things once the holiday crush is over)

Except for NumbersBot who is kinda spammy, so I moved it to mastodon.social as they don’t seem to mind spam so much going by their moderation practices 😏
