Alongside Sigur Ros, fellow Icelandic experimental band mum had a strong reputation for off-kilter psychedelic works, borrowing influence from multiple genres. While never quite as popular as the former band, mum have been producing plenty of work over the past decade.
The band is planning a release, through their label Morr Music, of early demos from 1998-2000, entitled Early Birds. The 15 track album features heavily experimental tracks from the band’s youth, both erratic and delicate. Early Birds will be available 17 July.
