The total fediverse MAU on https://fedidb.org does not include Misskey (which would give a noticeable boost)

I was curious about the impact of this:
mastodon.social does around 100k-125k posts per day over the last 2 weeks (eyeballing the number here)
misskey.io does around around 125k-150k posts per day (again eyeballing)
m.s. has 225k MAU
from my understanding is that misskey users tend to make more posts per user, so id estimate that misskey.io alone has somewhere between 150k and 200k mau
(warning: these numbers needs 34kg of salt)
Wait.. am I missing something? Mastodon.social does over 100k posts daily but has “only” 225k monthly active users? That doesn’t seem right to me. I would guess most users that are active don’t post that regularly. Can you help me understand please? 🙏
yeah the stats feel strange for sure
it does sorta like up with bluesky though: 650k posts per day and 1M MAU on bluesky, which is a pretty similar ratio of posts per day to MAU

@matej_svancer bluesky stats are hooked up to the firehose api, so those numbers can be assumed to be accurate
@laurenshof @matej_svancer i would expect bots to have an outsized impact on posts per day vs. MAU if neither network bothers to filter them out of reported stats
@matej_svancer @laurenshof and Mastodon never has, so anything reading NodeInfo or instance API numbers is looking at fiction
@vyr @matej_svancer neither does bsky since its firehose data, so at least the data is borked on both sides of the comparison :D
