Earthsea 第二弹，词汇量要求真的很低。Ursula K. Le Guin 对 Power 的分类令人耳目一新：一是 to，即力量，运动，技能等；二是 over，即支配，统治，奴役等；Ged 被同时赋予这两种 power，但本书主角 Tenar 只被赋予了后者。Tenar 算是 Ursula K. Le Guin 对在奇幻小说上塑造女性形象的一种尝试，同时认为两性并非天然对立，而是可以互相支持。这观点立刻令我想到了 Kathrine Virginia "Kathy" Switzer 在突破波士顿马拉松赛方的阻扰时，她的男友和教练当时也参赛并奋力阻止赛方的干扰，当时也有一位无名的男性选手表态他也会帮忙；此外 Tenar 的 power 之源是 The Nameless Ones，刚好又令我想到帝王讳。
