Ummm the battery that I thought I previously removed fell out! 😖 And of course it leaked. Let assess the damage.
On first inspection, it could have been much worse??
Whew! So far it seems limited to the surface, except for one trace (the top line of the battery icon silkscreen) which should be easy to patch. I’ll also brush the area with some vinegar to neutralize remaining battery goo and clean in the ultrasonic bath.
@paulrickards I'm glad it's not too bad. Curious, did you buy an ultrasonc cleaner big enough for a mac motherboard, or put something together yourself?
@bitsplusatoms I got a 10L ultrasonic cleaner from Amazon. It’s Ok, but so terribly loud that I can’t be in the room with it when it runs.
