这部电影彻底改变了我对维米尔创作的想象。以前读到史书里说他在绘画时使用了视觉工具，但我万万没想到实践操作是这样的。原来维米尔是原原本本一丝不苟地把视镜的画面，利用巧妙的工具，利用手和眼配合，机械地复原到画板上。维米尔画面里那迷一般的色彩和调子，并不是他“虚构”出来的画面，而是他如“人肉彩色打印机”一样制作出来的。神秘感减少，不过能做到维米尔，或者Tim那样，也需要不凡的手艺。更何况维米尔的构图也还是比同时代用了类似的工具的画家更高一些。用此工具画画非常之慢，难怪维米尔一生画作甚少。
画家、工匠、工程师...维米尔到底是哪一位？问题不是三选一，而是现代社会的我们把这些角色区分开了。维米尔更像是一位十七世纪的古代“摄影师”，真是奇妙的觉悟。
