@RickiTarr Please remind me: what did Occupy accomplish, besides a blip in the news cycle?
it got my mom to realize I was never going to be a right-winger like much of the rest of the family, because I obviously got arrested for protesting 🙂
@rick @brent @RickiTarr also led to the creation of a really useful community medical care charity, in the town where I was living at the time
and supported the development of financial reform legislation, parts of which were later dismantled, but that doesn't mean it wasn't worth doing
I'm seeing a lot of "protest never does anything" talk lately and I'm not sure who that helps
