@fedicat did this a long time ago. You can still see my follower count or at least the part of accounts federated to your instance.

I.e. i have ~ 300 followers but social.tchns shows only 195

@st3fan I changed #Fedicat recently to not show the follow counts if follow lists are hidden. #Akkoma and #Pleroma let you separately hide followers and followees and the counts but for now I just have the single toggle set everything.
