非常打动我的作品，个人最喜欢的角色是Laura Brown。作为一个在家庭生活中suffocate的主妇，她觉得自己的人生毫无选择权，而是lives on other. 有几个瞬间我甚至觉得她憎恶着自己的儿子。但在Laura去酒店准备自戮时，领悟到自己有死亡的可能，也就有活下去的可能，而这些可能性都来自她的自由选择。正是因为意识到了自己可以选择死亡，她才选择了不自杀，而是离开家庭、抛弃孩子独自活下去： It would be wonderful to say you regretted it. It would be easy. But what does it mean? What does it mean to regret when you have no choice? It's what you can bear. There it is. No one's going to forgive me. It was death.
