Lonely Girl

Digitally remastered reissue of the sultry singer's 1956 album. Yes, Julie London is the girl who single handededly launched the Torch Singer genre....and opened the door for every imperfect but sexy vocalist since. The most remarkable thing about Julie London is remarkable indeed: that she used her erotic persona not so much to interpret songs as to change the nature of them to become something other than when sung by anyone else. She used her breathy, sexy, sultry voice not to sing a version of a song that could compete with someone else's on a scale of good to better to best, but to change it's meaning. This, her second album, carries on from where her first left off...soft eroticism and single entendre...songs of yearning and loneliness in Julie's own bedroom whisper...just try to resist! One of the most erotic albums of all time! Features extensive liner notes and pics of the sexy singer herself! Squad 51 never had a chance! Rev-Ola. 2007.
