This is one of my favorite albums (though not as good as the amazing "Ametora"). Ua is impossible to categorize. She has melodic, catchy songs, followed by freeform jazz, followed by latin beat or caribbean beat songs, all on the same disk. Her voice is hypnotic and soulful - a far cry from the screaching of most J-pop singers. In fact, the only reason she is even considered J-pop is because she is from Japan, that is where the similarities end. If you have a chance to catch her live, do not miss it. For those of you who won't be in Japan any time soon, she has a concert video floating around somewhere that is well worth seeing.
