If there’s one thing that binds the work of Australian bedroom production project Chet Faker and the group's lone member, Nick Murphy, it’s atmosphere. He’s a master of crafting silky, electro-pop mini symphonies that burst with emotion, even when he folds in noisier rock elements, as he does throughout the Missing Link EP. “I’m Ready” comes on with a blast of feedback and discord, while “Bye” opens with a strummed electric guitar before turning into a stomping synth freakout.
