Torment and Toreros

Digitally remastered two CD reissue of this 1983 'solo' album from the singing half of Soft Cell. Torment & Toreros was the sophomore album from this side-project, eventually giving way to a full-fledged solo career. Produced by Flood, Torment & Toreros is an expansive, emotionally-charged cry for help by the reluctant Pop star, who is clearly dissatisfied with the trappings of fame and the creative straightjacket that Soft Cell had become. Lucky for Almond, Soft Cell split a year later and he has continued to pursue his own form of atmospheric cabaret for the next quarter century. 18 tracks. Some Bizarre. 2008.
