简介
Comedian Matt Berry is to release an album entitled ‘Music For Insomniacs’ on May 19, which he wrote during a period of sleep deprivation.
Berry wrote and starred in Channel 4 sitcom ‘Toast Of London’ as well as appearing in Reeves & Mortimer’s recent BBC2 comedy ‘House Of Fools’. He said he wrote the album as a way of trying to do something creative while suffering from insomnia.
Released on Acid Jazz Records, the album comprises of two lengthy songs, ‘Music For Insomniacs Parts 1 and 2’. A two-minute excerpt of ‘Music For Insomniacs Part 1’ can be heard here.
As well as his acting and writing work, Berry has released three previous folk-based albums on Acid Jazz, including 2013’s ‘Kill The Wolf’. In February, Channel 4 recommissioned ‘Toast Of London’ for a second series, but reports claimed that BBC2 were considering cancelling ‘House Of Fools’ despite a Twitter campaign to save the show. Berry’s other appearances include ‘The IT Crowd’ and ‘The Mighty Boosh’ as well as extensive voiceover work for firms including MoneySupermarket and Volvic.
