I'm In Your Mind Fuzz

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced the release of their debut offering under Heavenly Recordings, ‘I'm In Your Mind Fuzz’, out December 1st. Lead single ‘Cellophane’ is out on the same day, with the exclusive B-side track ‘The Wholly Ghost’ that isn’t featured on the LP.

The Australian seven-member band is known for their adventurous, experimental sonic direction and strong vocals. Vocalist Stu Mackenzie’s “drawl” was compared by NME to “Lias Saudi (Fat White Family) channelling Bobby Gillespie.” Fans can expect nothing but unique beats and sugary-sweet flutes and harmonicas doused with attitude and intricate lyricism from ‘I’m In Your Mind Fuzz’.

Lead single ‘Cellophane’ has previously been described as whimsical, but my first impressions were punk rock rebellion; from the intense guitar solos to the catchy, repetitive lyrics that culminate in an angst-filled shriek. The drummed beat is strong and attention seeking and the twangy guitars and brass contributions give it extra bite. Definitely one for hormone-fueled teenagers to practice their air guitars and rock star moves to.

The boys will be busy touring The States with White Fence this October, including a supporting performance in New York for Mac DeMarco and Connan Mockasin and an appearance at the CMJ festival before they head over to this side of the Atlantic. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard arrive in London on November 10th at the Shacklewell Arms to kick start the European leg of their tour, which concludes at Hoxton Bar Kitchen on November 24th.
