IV: Timber tells the story of Grizzly Hollow, Oregon native Benjamin Timberton (aka Timber) and his drunken struggle to find solace after the Vietnam War death of his best and closest friend Brett Godfrey. Unintentionally finding his way into The Town Of Burdale, Timber encounters Birdie (cynically referred to by the townsfolk as The Witch or sometimes The Witch Lady). Upon hearing Timber's sad tale, The Witch convinces him his only way out of the suffering is to end his own life - and she gives him the place and the means to do it.



Meanwhile Timber's wife, Ashley, once again awakes in their bed alone. Heartbroken, she decides she's had enough waking up night after night to an empty bed, not knowing where Timber is or if he's okay, so she goes out in search of her missing lover.
