“Leave Before You Love Me” is a collaboration between Marshmello and the Jonas Brothers. Produced by the former with co-production from Alesso, Digital Farm Animals, and Heavy Mellow, brothers Nick and Joe from the band sing about a bad breakup and avoid before anything goes bad.
This song serves as the Jonas Brothers' first release of 2021 and comes two days after Marshmello’s 29th birthday. The brothers and DJ announced the song and its complete details on May 20, 2021, one day prior to the song’s release, in which fans could hear a snippet of the song if they pre-saved it that day.
The official lyric video for the song was released to the Jonas Brothers' YouTube channel alongside the release of the song on May 21, 2021.
