Black Myth: Wukong Soundtrack Selection

Featuring settings and characters drawn from the classic fantasy novel Journey to the West, blockbuster action RPG Black Myth: Wukong has a soundtrack befitting its epic scope. It’s a cultural journey that spans space and time, stretching from the ageless vistas of the northern Shaanxi plateau in folk storyteller Xiong Zhuying’s “The Yellow Wind Rises” to the digital spirituality of “It Will Fit Me Just As Well”, a propulsive setting of the Buddhist rebirth mantra with synthesized chanting. Chen Bi De, octogenarian icon of Taiwanese pop, lends husky-voiced pathos to “Destiny”, while millennial indie artist Zhelainv brings the folk stylings of her native Gansu province to choral showstopper “Nonsense!”. Joining these are rousing anthems and haunting Mandopop ballads—as well as 30 score selections that blend folk elements and evocative orchestration, conjuring up the game’s sweeping landscapes, fierce boss battles and thrilling escapades inspired by the Monkey King.
