Age of the Exhibitionist

Everyone knows Descartes for saying “I think, therefore I am.”
However, as the descendant of Greek philosopher Lisa Rinnapolous, I would like to highlight his most underrated quote: “Sometimes I want to feel like a fucking slut, so I’ma turn on that new Rebecca Black and show off my stuff.”
Going from pop music’s clown to niche stan Twitter icon and now an artist in her own right, “Age of the Exhibitionist” is Rebecca Black’s sophomore album, and the first where she stops sounding like someone trying to shed her label as a past internet punching bag and starts sounding more like the fucking superstar she is.
Leaning away from the hit-or-miss hyperpop of her previous works, “Age of the Exhibitionist” pivots into a brand of electropop best described as the child of “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga and “STARFUCKER” by Slayyyter. But honestly, it’s really hard to pin this down to a few specific influences when Rebecca’s delivery is so unique and inimitable.
