Jan Morris
簡介
Spain is one of the absolutes. Nothing is more compelling than the drama, at once dark and dazzling, of that theatre over the hills _ the vast splendour of the Spanish landscape, the intensity of Spain_s pride and misery, the adventurous glory of a history that set its seal upon half the world . . .Passionate, evocative and beautifully written, Spain is a companion to the country: its people, its history _ and its character. First published in 1964 and no less compelling today, Jan Morris_s classic work is back in print, bringing Spain, its glory and its tragedy, vividly to life._Perhaps the best general book ever written on Spain._ Gerald Brenan_Whether in a caf_, drinking chocolate first tasted at Montezuma_s court, or bustling us over bridges and up cathedral steps, she is an infectious companion and a marvellous writer._ The Times_Fluency and wit and a sense of place and occasion._ Financial Times
