The Hong Kong chapter of Eric Tsang's "Growing-up Trilogy" bears testimony to the saying: "The kindness of the gods is manifested in allowing young people to embark on life unprepared." Heiward Mak, the 23-year-old director whom people in the inner circle repute to be the next shining star of Hong Kong cinema, crafts a string of vignettes about seven young people about to sit for a major public exam. Documentary film about the life of things: in some cases, before its existence (the sale of homes not built), in others about to be discarded (the destiny of the utensils from a family home). But inmaterial things are as well interesting, as the dreams and symbols, which are also on the market and that, sometimes, are nothing more than a form of self-affirmation: everything is on the market, everything can change hands.

Three stories of the supernatural are recounted in this anthology. Rick, an Aboriginal boy living near a swamp on Bribie Island, is haunted by an American solider who drowned in quicksand. A landlord has trouble evicting the tenants of an old warehouse: a couple that's been dead for years

In this earnest drama, a rural schoolteacher who has become a strong advocate for ecological awareness and is a committed opponent of hunting in the local swamp becomes romantically embroiled with a single mother who has returned to her birthplace since just before her boy (now nine years old) was born. Despite some hard feelings from the adult population of the town (who are very pro-hunting), the teacher's romance progresses smoothly until he learns that his girlfriend's brother stuffs and mounts specimens of endangered species.

The determined Badia hates peeling shrimps and sees the two new girlfriends, who are slightly better off, as a springboard.
