Wir schreiben das Jahr 1912. Lange vor Indiana Jones streift die mutige Pariser Reporterin Adèle Blanc-Sec bereits durch verfallene Grabanlagen samt fieser Mumien und urzeitlichen Viechern. Eines davon ist soeben aus einem 136 Millionen Jahr alten Ei im Naturkundemuseum geschlüpft – und die Stadt versinkt im Chaos. Gemeinsam mit dem prominenten Professor Ménard geht Adèle dem Geheimnis auf den Grund. Probleme dabei machen ihr Konkurrent Dieuleveult und Inspektor Caponi, der den Prof im Visier hat.
