Ivan, pressured by his wealthy father to get married, seizes the opportunity and presents Vasilisa as his girlfriend. Vasilisa revels in her newfound human life, but as twilight descends, she reverts to her frog form. It is revealed that Vasilisa was cursed by an evil magician.
