Zhang, a middle aged man struggling with a dead end job as an insurance sales person, on the verge of divorce with his wife, losing custody of her daughter, and on top of all this he has to take care of his father who is suffering from Alzheimer's. Unknowingly Zhang is invited to join an underground fighting game for financial purposes, but eventually Zhang becomes hooked on the fights and turns professional.

Between a man and his lover lies a wall, between the man and the country he loves lies another wall. Can a one-sided dialouge breaks the walls and expresses the man’s feelings and sentiments? Or does the lover or the country wants the wall to be broken in the first place? This short was inspired by Amy Len’s dance choreography “Wall” and colloborated with Loh Bok Lai. The dance was originally choreographed for a performance in Japan Dance Wave Fukuoka ‘06 - Asian Contemporary Dance Now and later made into an experimental video combining elements of an actor and monologue. The video footages were also used for the dance piece itself in KL.

With his nineteenth feature film - an incredible number given that he didn't appear on the scene until 2001 and also has a number of shorts, television projects and anthology projects to his credit - Malaysia's James Lee returns to the sort of arthouse drama where he made his name. Lee has worked a great deal in commercial film in recent years, enough that it's easy to forget how surprised people were when one of the founders of arthouse film collective Da Huang Pictures - along with Amir Muhammed, Tan Chui Mui and Liew Seng Tat - first stepped in to the genre world with the ultra bloody Histeria. But Lee is back with Da Huang for If It's Not Now, Then When and it's as though he never left. Though plot details are minimal the first trailer for the film is a beautifully shot, introspective affair that's all about tone and rhythm.

A trio of tales set in recession-era Kuala Lumpur. Tale 1: A lone sniper, Ah Loong befriends a red bean soup seller and tries to redeem his violent past. Tale 2: Steve, a retrenched worker is obsessed when he finds the rifle dumped by Ah Loong.
