Eva is just passing through Madrid. She spends her days there alone: she doesn't know anyone and isn’t particularly interested in getting to know new people. The city is therefore an unfamiliar place where she wanders aimlessly, her curiosity somewhat dampened. But one afternoon, at the Reina Sofía Museum, a man approaches her. His name is Dante and he is an Argentine historian researching labor struggles in his country and the career of Juan Bialet Massé.

Sara discovers that agrochemicals sprayed by her neighbor for soy cultivation poisoned her daughter. The treatment compels them to travel to Buenos Aires. To get money for it, Sara devotes herself to drug trafficking. This becomes a threat to her freedom and the safety of her children.

In this melancholic black and white painting, the poetics of the image elevate the everyday to the unusual, the gloom to sweet fantasy, in discrete epiphanies like those magic tricks performed with mischief or the savvy pleasure taken in reciting a theatrical script. “I was sad, but I’m better” says one of the characters at the end of the film. He doesn't do much, just exists a little between the living and their things. One day, he meets a young, pregnant woman.
