The Irresponsible Toad is in a mess and needs help from his friends try and save Toad Hall.

Jailed for his reckless driving, rambunctious Mr. Toad has to escape from prison when his beloved Toad Hall comes under threat from the wily weasels, who plan to build a dog food factory on the very meadow sold to them by Toad himself.

Humorist Robert Benchley attempts to find Walt Disney to ask him to adapt a short story about a gentle dragon who would rather recite poetry than be ferocious. Along the way, he is given a tour of Walt Disney Studios, and learns about the animation process.

蟾蜍凭借父辈创造的丰厚家业日子过得悠闲而富庶。尽管蟾蜍有自吹自擂的恶习和酷爱汽车的嗜好，但蟾蜍表明鼹鼠的家绝对不是他毁的。在蟾蜍驾车带鼹鼠和河鼠去旅游的路上，河鼠得知蟾蜍因手头紧张，早已经把那块草坪卖给了黄鼠狼。蟾蜍追求极速的快感给他和他的朋友带来了厄运。汽车撞进野树林车翻人伤后，蟾蜍落入了黄鼠狼的包围。迷路的鼹鼠和河鼠在纷飞的雪花中找到老獾家，清醒过来的蟾蜍自然又少不了黄鼠狼一番威胁：如果不能偿还此前撞坏的六辆车的钱，那么就拿蟾宫做抵押。为了帮助蟾蜍，鼹鼠、河鼠和老獾结伴来到蟾宫，试图劝说蟾宫改掉自吹自擂的恶习，从此不沾汽车。然而，一切都是徒劳。蟾蜍非但不听，而且还为自己惹上麻烦。
在黄鼠狼的鼓惑下，蟾蜍获罪入狱，刑期一百年。但蟾蜍很快就逃脱，在卫兵的追捕下，和鼹鼠、河鼠、老獾一起跳上一辆列车。有惊无险的追捕中，蟾蜍得以脱险，鼹鼠、河鼠则知道了黄鼠狼想方设法要弄到蟾宫的目的。回家路上的蟾蜍再次落入黄鼠狼之手。在黄鼠狼即将把蟾蜍绞成肉馅做成火腿时，鼹鼠、河鼠和老獾舍身相救，最终捣毁了黄鼠狼利用蟾宫建狗肉加工厂的目的，成就了一段深厚的朋友情谊。

Film is based on the beloved 1908 tale penned by Kenneth Grahame.
The story follows Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad - all colorful characters, in a story filled with adventure, morality and camaraderie.

One spring, Mole decides that he can ignore the spring cleaning for a little longer, and begins a series of adventures with his new friend Rat. They go for a picnic on the riverbank, on a caravan expedition with Toad, until Toad switches allegiance to his new car and his reckless driving makes Mole and Rat search out Badger for help in curbing Toad's profligate habits. But Toad gets away from them and gets a 20-year sentence from the magistrate for theft, reckless driving, and Gross Impertinence. While Toad works his wiles on the jailer's daughter and escapes jail dressed as a washer woman, Badger tries to guard Toad Hall from the machinations of the Weasels and is badly beaten. And it requires a plan of attack and all four comrades to regain Toad Hall.
