Kicsi Dániel, the young virtuoso pianist gets a separate apartment in the ten-storey block of flats. He rehearses all the time, irregularly, day and night, disturbing thus the peace of the dwellers in the thin-walled house. Inquisition begins in the name of equal rights for inhabitants.

A young man has his hepatic duct replaced with a plastic tube after an accident but starts to get worried how this will affect his manliness.

The pseudo crime story honours the bohemian world at the beginning of the century.

In this caricature-like film an old film director offers his memories of his career to his former student, now a studio manager, as an idea for a new film. We can see the director in Berlin in the twenties, where his task is to make a film star of Hungarian origin cry out of homesickness.

The film is set in Budapest, 1924. Laundryman Ede Minarik's only passion is football. His dream is to see his team, Csabagyöngye, qualify for the first division. For this goal he would be willing to sacrifice everything he has. But he has nothing, even footballers just barely. The team is just like the times. But still, "we need a team!"

The dance play is based on the legend of the girl who was danced to death. Using the tools of folk dance, classical ballet and modern dance, the three parts tell the tale of the black man's spell that takes the girl away from her lover in a setting of folk tales, 18th century Rococo and the 1960s metropolis. But in the modern world, in the ballroom bustle of the last part, the girl is no longer alone, but with the help of the other young people, she is freed from the magic of the red shoe and manages to stay with her lover.

Corporal Molnár (Imre Sinkovits) decides that war has ended for him and makes his getaway from his corps with all their money hidden in empty grenades. He tries to hide in a castle which is guarded by the derisive groom Albert (Tamás Major). Unfortunately the hideaway is full of other fugitive soldiers so he takes command and risks his and his comrades lives in dangerous adventures - they are acting as an official corps, saving a soviet soldier, fighting with Arrow-cross detachments. Things are going well but in the end they are getting into soviet captivity where they are organizing a partisan commando... The sentence from this movie "The Russians are in the larder" has become an adage in Hungarian language until Today.

Dery is a grande dame actress of the Sarah Bernhardt school of big-gesture theater. Her beauty and popularity is fading, and a new school of acting which involves the use of one's own emotions (a-la Eleanora Duse) is emerging in the person of her younger Viennese rival. She thinks of retiring from the stage, and reunites briefly with her estranged husband in a newly-built manor in the country. Finding that life there is boring, she returns to town, the theater, and her old friends.

Pianist and composer Liszt was giving performances all over Europe and made his famous concert tour to St. Petersburg, Russia. Liszt's brilliant piano playing impressed the Russian royalty and aristocracy. Even the Russian Tsar had to stop talking when Liszt was playing his piano. Liszt became friends with the Russian composer Glinka. Liszt's beautiful music touched everyone's heart. Women pursued him and his lengthy affair with countess Marie D'Agoult was in trouble. In Russia Liszt met the beautiful princess Carolyne, who soon left her husband for Liszt . She became his last love, and he composed the "Dream of Love", dedicated to her. But the Chirch did not allow Liszt to marry princess Caroline, because she could not terminate her first marriage. Being loved by the public, Liszt was never really happy in his personal life, and he expressed himself making beautiful music.

In December 1956 there is a chaotic situation in Hungary. The revolution is put down by the Soviet army. People leave the country in large numbers for fear of revenge.
