A virtuous monk descends to the depths of sin and depravity after Satan sends an unholy temptress to lead him astray.

When the end of the world is announced, Robinson Laborde is recovering from a failed love affair, for which he had decided to leave his wife. Despite the looming disaster, or perhaps because of it, he embarks on a romantic odyssey that takes him through France and Spain. With a cast including Catherine Frot, Karin Viard and Sergi Lopez, Les Derniers jours du monde revisits Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu’s favoured themes of freedom, random encounters, and desire in the mode of a Hollywood disaster movie. The film flirts with science fiction, but also resonates with contemporary reality in its depiction of the dangers of a mystery virus. But the main story is age-old: the soul-searching of a man seeking love in a chaotic world. 2009 Toronto International Film Festival 2009 Locarno International Film Festival

Autumn 2015. Two Spanish lifeguards, Oscar and Gerard, travel to the Greek island of Lesbos after seeing the heart-wrenching photograph of a little boy drowned in the Mediterranean Sea. But the thing that stands out most is that no one is doing any rescue work. Together with Esther, Nico and other members of the team, they will fight to do the job that none of the authorities are doing and provide support to the thousands of people who so badly need it. For all involved, this first trip will turn into an odyssey, one that will change their lives forever.

A radio-show assistant meets a budding screenwriter during a group-therapy session for sex addicts.
