During the declining years of Ming dynasty, Mongolians sent secret agents to intrude central China and try to obtain "The Light sword". A mighty sword which can gather all brave wanderers. 以拍摄喜剧走红影坛的快手导演朱廷平在本片仍维持抄袭西片的习惯，在这部大制作中有十多个片段明显地具有西片的影子。拍得较认真的是本片介绍各个女主角身份的序场，能掌握住精简有力的原则。七个大牌女星汇集一起，赋予她们各人完全不同的新造型，这是本片最大的噱头，也是对观众最有吸引力的一点。首席玉女林青霞扮演一名独眼的匪首，带着六名女将去捣毁日军的"生化城"。其余六位是：一头黄发扮相怪异的神枪手杨惠珊；机灵却胆小的扒手彭雪芬；整天烟不离口的烟枪叶倩文；没酒就活不了的东洋女侠刘皓怡，打扮花枝招展的妓女程秀瑛；和像泰山般打扮的力度山徐俊俊。一向扮演英雄的梁修身，在本片中则演反派日军军官。这在当时台湾影坛可谓是空前组合。本片不足之处是后面拍得马虎，被描述为铜墙铁壁的"生化城"却只是一个仿古装片的山洞，明显地偷工减料。
