First album from the lovely Francoise Hardy in eight years, Tant de Belles Choses (So Many Beautiful Things) features 12 hauntingly beautiful songs, most penned by Hardy. The title track appears on the album twice, once by arranger Erick Benzi, and a more restrained version by Alain Lubrano, revealed as a hidden track at the end of the album. EMI. 2004.

Françoise Madeleine Hardy is a French singer-songwriter. She made her musical debut in the early 1960s on Disques Vogue and found immediate success with her song "Tous les garçons et les filles".

She received a guitar on her sixteenth birthday as a reward for passing her baccalaureat. After a year at the Sorbonne she answered a newspaper advertisement looking for young singers. Hardy signed her first contract with the record label Vogue in November 1961. In April 1962, shortly after finishing school, her first record "Oh Oh Chéri" appeared. Her own flip side of the record, "Tous les garçons et les filles" became a success, riding the wave of Yé-yé music in France. Hardy sang of young love with both fetching moodiness and unrestrained ebullience; although she often wrote both her music and lyrics, she often co-wrote tunes with others as well. She was greatly aided by a number of talented arrangers who seemed to be attempting (usually successfully) to blend American and British production sophistication with a Continental European sensibility.

Like many of her previous records, it was originally released without a title and came to be referred to, later on, by the name of its most popular song. It is her second album produced under Hypopotam, a production company she established in 1970. The music on the album was almost entirely composed by the Brazilian musician Tuca, who supervised the project and participated as a guitarist.
