In February this year (2017) Antonio Da Silva went to Mexico to produce the new film about Mexican men (MACHOS). Sex with Mexicans can be very exciting and dangerous. The macho attitude makes aggressive and rude sex to be common not just between gay men but with straight men too. This dichotomy makes the Mexican men very special. The film is a combination of interviews, dance and scenes from an orgy that take us to a masculine homoerotic experience in traditional macho society in Mexico.

There is always the first time you are called Daddy. It's more than just a question of age. Leather Daddies, Daddy Bears and Daddies that don't fit into the usual categories. Ten gay men over forties were filmed on Super 8 getting undressed... They talk about their Daddy identity, gay relationships, polyamory, their cock and appetite for sex. By the second day of the festival, it became clear to him that he had to shoot some of the men who were filling the iconic Castro cinema and celebrating the final overturn of Proposition 8, the ban on same-sex marriage.

Be Sexual interviews some participants from Bankers. They are bisexual married men who carry their secret desire for other men. They demonstrate how they get fulfilled by hooking up in public toilets. They describe how it feels to be attracted to men and where this emotion fit in their daily married lives. These men live double lives and they question the need for bisexual labeling. All they want is to Be Sexual.

A cross between a road-trip in Portugal and a summer love story, shot in super 8 film. It is the junction of a poetic narrative with factual and personal elements. Julian is represented here as the “noble savage” of Rousseau: nature is his natural environment. Julian is like Adam, the embodiment of various myths created by mankind.

This film portrays the journey of a “straight” married man who has the habit of cruising in the park next to his work place during his lunch break. He is a hunter however he is also hunted. Mostly he plays with other discrete married man, they enjoy looking at each others hard erections, mutual masturbation, sucking and fucking. It is a ritual of brief encounters in the woods. It is an explicit carnival with penises and butts dancing with the rhythm of samba. It is a film that emphasizes the freedom of expression. Portraits the carnival as a kind of an orgy / a consented orgy, where you explore your desires and fantasies and be who you really are.

Cruising is usually associated to dark, dirty and hidden places where men meet for casual sex. There is a lot of prejudice against cruising. In this film the participants burn sage to do a cleansing ritual in cruising places. They are male nature spirits dancing naked with erections turning the space into a playful cruising ground, where it is possible to build connections between body, heart, mind, soul and nature. When we connect to all of that we are instead of splitting off and losing ourselves, the cruising ground can turn into a sacred place where we can feel grounded, secure, in harmony with the others and the surroundings.

BEACH 19 / PRAIA 19 is the most popular gay nudist beach in Portugal, part of a Nature Reserve near Lisbon with a extensive cruising section. Tension! Fervor! Satisfaction of outdoor sex! The tension rises slowly and seductively, the warm wind blows and the heat of summer burns, the action builds into a full-on group masturbation, sucking and fucking session. Beach 19 or Praia de Bela Vista, is where the nudist beach starts, also world famous for being Portugal's most popular gay beach. As with everywhere in the world: where the nudist beach ends, gay cruising begins and this is the largest cruising spot in Portugal. In the vast bushes behind the railway track, guys from all over Europe and beyond, meet for some fun and relaxation.

This is a voyeuristic hunt during my trip to Rio de Janeiro with lots of sea, sun, sweat and sexual encounters. Brazilian men care about their physique and they freely allow admiration of their sculpted bodies. The sensuality of those men creates blurry sexual identities. An outdoors gym in the Arpoador area unveiled to me the vibrancy of the country and the diversity of men. Just behind the gym there is a gay cruising park. The gym crowd training during the day is very different from the one training at night. The film is a portrait of this shift while adding more Brazilian testosterone to this Summer's football excitement in the country!

Nude Dudes is about my experience during my visit in Tel Aviv. I was hosted by Matan and Menache, two young guys who practice nudism in their own house. While being flatmates they openly expose their sexual interests to each other and their guests. Managing their online dating profiles is a part of their daily routine. I was intrigued by their non-tabooed dynamic. They brought me to the nudists beach where to my delight I saw a similar openness from the crowd. Away from the open Mediterranean waters, an unforgettable experience was swimming in the Dead Sea with two guys I had met at the festival I was attending at the time. Connection, freedom, sex, elevated senses and feelings, ejaculating life in those dead waters. Its unique composition transported all three of us to another stimulating dimension. After all, no matter the conflicts in the area I felt connected and open for a better well being like the locals do.

Solos portraits a diversity of characters expressing themselves sexually. They speak about their fetishes, connection and fantasies. This documentary short film was made in collaboration with Miguel Arroja who had been capturing action on camera since 2001. After he saw my work he wanted to share his precious footage with me. I was impressed with the activities at the place. I went there in 2013 to experience it myself and do more filming.

This is a statement about the current financial situation in Portugal and the lack of funding to support artistic initiatives. All contributions from this film will be given to the participants of Dancers film, to encourage and inspire them, for them to give you one more private dance! These artists are not afraid to challenge the general thinking about male nudity and they showcase the potential of creative Portuguese performance arts.
