2012年に発表された原作は、ある女子高校生の遺体が見つかったことに端を発した母と娘をめぐるミステリー。世間が死因を事故か自殺か騒ぎ立てる中、母の手記と娘の回想が交錯し、ある真相が浮かび上がっていく。

《美丽的人》是由日本ユーツー制作的40分钟的中篇剧情影片。该片由行定勋执导，桥本爱、高良健吾主演，于2016年3月4日在日本上映。该片讲述了神秘男子访问熊本，在当地遇到一位女大学生，在熊本美丽的风景中发生的感情故事。

「うつくしいひと」は、熊本へロケハンに訪れた映画監督と若い女性が出会い、小さな旅をするさまを描く作品。橋本と高良のほか、映画監督役を務める政治学者の姜尚中や、石田えり、くまモンが出演する。熊本の町並みや自然などの地域資源を活用して撮影が行われ、監督の行定や出演者も全員が熊本県出身者でそろえられている。行定は「故郷、熊本で映画を撮ることができることを大変嬉しく思っています」「他の都市でも起こりえるような普遍的な出来事をあえて熊本の風景や情緒を活かして描くことで、熊本にしかない良さが生まれ再確認できることを期待しています」とコメントを発表している。

Shinji is a middle-aged, sleaze film director who used to be famous. He hardly goes back home and moves from one woman to another. In spite of his idleness, women are very fond of him and look after him compassionately for whatever reason.

Izumi is a sophomore university student when she hears from her former high school teacher and mentor Takashi. They were both involved in the school drama club. She liked him. He liked her. Takashi asks Izumi to return to the school and assist with a performance. Will the feelings be rekindled?

Due to his indecise nature, Kyoichi, an advertising company employee, repeatedly cheats on his wife. One day, he meets Wataru, an old classmate from university. Wataru reveals that Kyoichi's wife hired him to investigate whether Kyoichi is having an affair. Wataru, who has liked Kyoichi for the past 7 years, takes advantage of the situation and blackmails the salaryman: if he accepts to have a sexual relationship with him, he won't tell his wife about his infidelity.
