簡介

"Victory over the Sun" tells about a group of "Budelyans" who set out to conquer the Sun.

"Victory over the Sun" is a futuristic opera performance by the poet Alexei Kruchenykh, composer Mikhail Matyushin and artist Kazimir Malevich. This is perhaps one of the most provocative and unconventional productions of the 20th century. The idea to create an opera appeared at the "First All-Russian Congress of Futurists" in mid-July 1913 at the dacha of Mikhail Matyushin. Only three were present at the congress: Malevich, Matyushin and Kruchenykh.

The Futurists decided to create the Budetlyanin Theater to revolutionize the traditional idea of theater. The production of "Victory over the Sun" was supposed to be a work of alogism of words, music and images. The name of the opera is based on the allegory of the eclipse. Unlike our ancestors, who considered the eclipse a bad sign, the authors saw in it the triumph of the new world, the victory of technology and science over nature, the triumph of reason over the elements.
