我倾情向所有人安利这部纪录片，一部让人不寒而栗的纪录片。

首先，这个中文译名就很有意思，非常“correct”，也算是一种趋吉避凶的生存智慧了。其次，看完后我再次膜拜POI，“你正在被做成表”。没错，我们都在被做成表。

"The Social Dilemma"除了讲SNS的坏处外，还特别强调了推荐算法。其实之前我也有意识到了推荐算法的toxic，但没有非常认真的对待它带来的负面影响。我仅有的努力是：

1. 手机里没有抖音也没有Tik Tok；
2. 我的chrome每打开一个tab都是一个完全摒弃掉推荐算法的插件——100 Million Books推送的书。

如今sns和推荐算法创造的Information cocoons的危害人人都能说上几句，就不赘述了，问题是真正严肃应对的又有几位？看完"the social dilemma"之后，我第一时间安装了unhook-remove youtube recommendation，并把default搜索引擎改成quant.

片里几句振聋发聩的Quotes（对我来说）：

1. “We have gone from the Information Age into the disinformation age. "（我们已经从资讯时代进入到不实资讯时代。）
2. "If you're not paying for the product, then you are the product. "（如果你没有为产品付费，那你就是被卖的产品。）正所谓免费的就是最贵的" "Advertiser is the customer, and we are the product that's being sold."

"It's the gradual, slight, imperceptible change in your own behavior and perception that is the product." 3. 手机/电子产品是我们所有人的pacifier. 4. "We’ve moved away from having a tools-based technology environment to an addiction- and manipulation-based tech environment."（别再拿技术工具论来搪塞、辩护，有些东西就是需要日一日才能改变）

一些让我毛骨悚然的研究/研究所（没说大学/研究所不能研究的意思，只是觉得在应用，尤其是在以营利为目的的商业产品上运用时，这些研究成果在“应用层面”上应该得到管制. You got to have technological ethics. ：

big tech在应用这些技术时，就是在剥削人性、人心的弱点。我们作为一个独立的个体，也就仅是社交网络中可有可无的一个节点；也就是不受任何法律等其他保护、任由big tech搓圆揉扁、进行试验的实验组或对照组；我们就是巴普洛夫的狗、为了那点多巴胺冲着reward system流口水；我们就是小白鼠。最绝的是：

很多人为网络、社交网络、推荐算法等技术辩护的主要论点之二：

1. 创新阵痛论：技术是这么的好，给我们带来了这么多革新，之后还会有XYZ的用处。且人类历史上一直有创新，每次创新都需要人类适应，适应过程总有负面影响，我们还不是survive至今？

确实，但技术、sns对人类的影响是前所未有、无法与过去比较的。当我们认真审视这些负面影响，随着sns的发展带来的所有问题：暴增的青少年自杀率（150%+）、政治极化（联想到了福山）、有目的有组织的暴力活动（缅甸、菲律宾等）、恐袭等等。审视后扪心自问，我们真得应该放任这些问题、影响发展，并等待着时间和人类的适应性解决这些问题、硬抗过这些影响吗？

Director of Monetisation at Facebook: Yes, these platforms have enabled meaningful systemic changes around the world…the reuniting of families, the finding of lost school friends, even the finding of organ donors, but we’ve become naïve of the flip side of the coin.

2. 工具论：技术只是工具，技术无罪，问题都归咎于使用技术的人。

If something is a tool, it genuinely is just sitting there, waiting patiently to be used. If something is not a tool, it’s demanding things from you, it’s seducing you, it’s manipulating you. It wants things from you.

没有个体能直接撼动这些创建社交网络等产品的庞然大物，但我们（非high tech从业者的普罗大众）至少得注意到这个问题及我们的处境，而这正是这部记录片的意义和目的。 因为"How do you wake up from The Matrix, when you don't know you're in The Matrix?" （如果你不知道自己在矩阵中，你如何从矩阵中醒来？）

同时， VR之父 Jaron Lanier 的观点"It's the critics that drive improvement. It's the critics who are the true optimists"让我联想到了George Carlin说过的： "Inside every cynical person, there's a disappointed idealist"。

So be cynical, and be a critic.
