Imperfect, but interestingly strange

A moody teenager follows her father and his new family to an isolated town in Germany. She begins to notice strange things happening around her, culminating in an attack by a strange woman. After teaming up with a police detective, she learns of strange and dangerous experiments taking place in secret. This movie is atmospheric and creepy, with strong performances by Hunter Schafer and Dan Stevens. The central mystery is a little underexplained and a number of elements don't quite hold up when you think about them, but taken as a whole this was an entertaining and original film.
