From time to time, we often question our own decisions. We wonder why we have made such decision even with long time to think and to analyze the problem and the situation. We wonder why we don’t just simply trust out instincts, our seemingly predictive thought. These wonders become the reason for me to pick up Malcolm Gladwell’s book, a book about snap judgment.

The idea of “rapid cognition” is quiet interesting. It refers to the snap judgment without thinking about how one is thinking. It is somehow like instinct, like physical response that faster than the logical part of the brain can manage. The book first explained why snap judgment is better, and then discussed under what circumstance the snap making would not be able to perform, and what to do when encountering these situations.

The book, to me, was quite interesting, in the sense that the way the author explained such a psychological and biological thing with reference to the real life examples from all fields, such as from museums, from police shooting case, and even from coca cola formula. As an idiot in biology, these examples successfully drew my attention to understand those biological and medical terms, which makes the book page-turning.
