More action, but the characters just don’t have the same magic for me. Love Buscemi but he doesn’t beat Cabbie for me, although that’s definitely a different dynamic. Hershe comes in a bit too late to really match the dynamic of Snake and Brain in terms of old partners with a falling out.  New York had more grittiness and cool small-scale action like the fight against that big guy in the boxing ring. Plus New York was total classic synth core soundtrack, while L.A. has a bit too much contemporary radio music at the start imo.  They definitely upped the antics and campiness though. L.A. was definitely way funnier, like with Snake locked up walking on the treadmill during the terrorist broadcast. Snake never surfed or made a full court shot for his life in New York though unfortunately. So I guess I gotta give it to L.A. That paragliding was reeallly dumb lol. Cool ending though.
