a review of Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant
I am reminded of Miette of La Cité des Enfants Perdus/City of Lost Children - it's got the dreamlike atmosphere of that film. A powerful story about finding your own way to be in life. ETA: Watched this again recently and I'm still really impressed. Coming up with a not-done-yet vampire plot in the first place and managing to bring real family dynamics into it in an emotionally realistic way. The central theme could easily have been overdone or cloying but it's really well written and acted.
