The Dead Don't Die - Review
Weirdly downbeat, even for a Jarmusch movie. On one hand, it's right in his usual wheelhouse as a deliberately paced shaggy-dog arthouse comedy. On the other, it's also right there in his other wheelhouse as an abstract meditation on genre and narrative conventions. On the other other hand, it's also as clear a metaphor for the feeling of living in late 2010s America as anything else I've seen in the past three years. We all know it's gonna end badly, and we might even know exactly how, but damned if anybody is going to stop it.
