Better than the first
When popular characters enter the public domain, slasher movie adaptations are inevitable. While the first Blood and Honey had an interesting premise (Pooh and Piglet are PISSED about being abandoned in the Hundred Acre Wood by now college-aged Christopher Robin), the actual film felt pretty rote and by-the-numbers. I dozed off while watching it, and couldn't be bothered to rewind the ending.
This second one was...actually OK? Still bearing a grudge, Pooh Bear (now joined by Owl and Tigger) decides to make Christopher Robin's life even more difficult by taking their killing spree outside the forest. There's some goofy mad science backstory added to justify the existence of the anthropomorphic monsters and some fun gore. It feels a little tacky that--years after this being identified as an incredibly common trope--the first black character introduced is also the first character to die, however. While this movie is best left to hardcore horror fans, it entertained me more than the first one did. I didn't fall asleep!
