a review of DEVO

I mean, of course I loved this, but it's also a great portrait of the band for anyone who only knows that one hit and the rather crass video that goes with it. Some great archival footage and a fleshing out of the origin of the band's central idea. Without Kent State - both the institution, and the historical tragedy it's best known for - there is no Devo. Somewhat surprised that Weird Al and the Church of the Subgenius don't rate a mention, but there's always DVD extras
