This movie grows on me with each time I watch it. In some ways it recycles the overall theme of "District 9" in that it questions the limits of what it means to be human. And yet again Blomkamp pays homage to RoboCop, while also throwing Bladerunner into the mix. And although the major action sequence has a plastic feel to it (the CGI could have been just a little bit better) and the criminals are pretty one-dimensional, it's compensated by being a both colourful and emotional experience.
