a review of 真正的痛苦

kieran culkin? just a staggering amount of depth and charisma. he really might be the undisputed dramedy champ of this generation.  the whole cast was fantastic, mind you. Jesse is a natural in his actor director bag and Will Sharpe  (who i did not like at all in The White Lotus) won me over.  i can't speak to the Category Fraud allegations since story wise Benji(Kieran) isthe supporting character*. but he did absolutely deserve the  Oscar he got.  *who the main character is spelled out in the movie too: "i love him. and i hate him. and i want to be him." -- this is David's story from start to end, yet it's only fitting that in a narrative where he's the main character, every other person --character, audience, overlooks him bc of the huge, overwhelming personality standing next to him. even himself.
