I've never played a match-3 style game before. Well, maybe a round or two on somebody else's phone, but that's all. This is the first one to really appeal to me, and admittedly that was mostly because of the art and character design, but the gameplay really grew on me anyway. There are multiple ways to adjust the difficulty level, from speed to number of block types. If you set everything to max it's completely diabolical! Story mode is very short but fully voice acted, and very well done. Oddly enough, most of the actual story content starts after story mode, including all the relationship stuff. I wish I had more experience with match-3 as a genre, because I can't tell what is or isn't novel here... Like, is it common for them to be multi-player? I don't think so, right? Like a more advanced version of Battle Tetris, if anyone remembers that. All the equipable "spells" with unique activation mechanics are a really nice touch too. Anyway, it's great, play itttttt!!!
