Shocking admission, and it's even a surprise to me: I realized about halfway through watching this that I don't think I've ever watched Goldfinger from beginning to end. There's huge chunks of this movie up to and including the actual finale that were entirely new to me. I think it might be one of those things where I'd seen enough of the movie in the form of clips, parodies, and maybe seeing 10 minutes here or there while flipping channels that I literally thought I'd seen the whole thing, but I was wrong. And TBH that made it kind of a thrill because this was the one where all of the necessary ingredients came together in just the right proportions, but my Swiss cheese memory made it all seem brand new.
