旅日作家李琴峰是史上第一位台籍芥川獎得主，於11月20日「跨性別追悼日」發超過6500字的「被迫出櫃聲明」，承認自己是跨性別者。文中檢視反跨性別浪潮，並控訴自己在台灣遭到一群網路霸凌者攻擊、言語性騷及誹謗，為保護家人、自己亦無法再屢受霸凌的台灣安心生活，於是才決定移居日本。然而，一群台灣的反跨霸凌者卻仍舊在許多社群平台上對她進行強迫出櫃（侵犯隱私）、言語性騷、誹謗中傷，至今尚未停止。她試圖透過法律途徑解決問題，台灣司法卻不起訴霸凌者，她說，「如果可以，我根本不想出這個櫃」。
李琴峰提到，自己是一個女同志，出道多年來致力於書寫LGBTQ+的故事，也積極支持同婚等相關議題，每年也會參加（日本的）同志遊行。這些都是已公開的資訊，是屬於她的真實，但今日她還要在這裡鄭重地出另一個櫃，「我，李琴峰，同時也是一個跨性別者。 」
同時，她亦對這樣的說法有所抗拒，她認為「跨性別者」這個標籤並不算是一種認同（identity），充其量只是一種狀態（status）或屬性（attribute）。 她承認自己曾在男性的狀態下生活過一段時期，但那段時期是不願回首的夢魘。後來發現一直生活在錯誤的性別裡，造成了各種格格不入、隔閡與衝突。於是她決定殺掉自己，重新出生。她說，她並不是一個「生理男性」，她就是一個女性。

台灣藝人大 S 徐熙媛遊日期間猝逝，年僅 48 歲，她和前夫汪小菲育有一對分別只有 10 歲和 8 歲的子女，兩人離異時曾就子女撫養權有爭議，最終協議由徐熙媛撫養。有台灣律師就撰文分析，根據台灣法例，未成年子女的監護權會自動轉到在生的一方，即汪小菲會自動獲得監護權，「所以，如果汪小菲想要把兩個未成年子女帶走，在法律上是可以的。」
台灣著名律師呂秋遠在大 S 死訊傳出後在網上撰文，分析大 S 未成年子女的監護權問題，指根據台灣的民法，離婚之後即使原本約定由父母其中一方行使監護權，但該方離世後監護權就會移轉到生存那一方，「以大S的情況來說，就是如此。她過世以後，兩個孩子的監護權就依法會到汪小菲這裡」，而且即使大 S 寫遺囑都不能改變這規定，她的現任丈夫具俊曄作為繼父亦不會有監護權。雖然大 S 的家人可以到法院興訟，例如提出考慮未成年子女意願等，但若汪小菲不妥協，訴訟並不容易。
